Dog Collars

We design our fashionable and unique dog collars with a sturdy webbing layer, a trim outside layer, and heavy-duty hardware. All wide collars (2" – 1.5" wide) have brass D-rings and hardware.  Narrow collars (1" wide) have steel D-rings and, for the Classic collar, plastic adjusters and buckles.

Martingale Collars – The Better Dog Collar       

Martingale or "soft choke" or "humane choke" collars provide firm but gentle leading and restraint.  Although originally designed for sight hounds, they work with any dog as well. 

Standard buckle collars are static once adjusted and buckled closed, so they don't lead or restrain well.  Choke chains adjust and can provide good lead and restraint, but can harm the skin of thin-skinned dogs such as sight hounds and can even suffocate if used improperly. 

Martingale collars improve on both of these.  Martingales have a loop that adjusts while in use.  When slack, the loop opens wide to fit over the dog's head and hang loosely.  When pulled taught, the loop closes up and fits snugly against the dog's neck, restraining firmly but gently at the same time.  They also are much wider than buckle collars or choke chains, so they do not pinch or break the dog's skin.
(Since sight hounds have smaller necks than their heads, they can also easily back out from standard buckle collars, but not Martingales.) 

We make our Martingale collars with a fleece inside layer to prevent chafing, a sturdy webbing middle layer, a trim outside layer, and brass heavy-duty hardware.  (Upon request, we can substitute a matching satin or flannel layer for the fleece inside layer.)

Adjustable Martingale collars fit up to an 18 inch head and down to an 8 inch neck. We also make a fitted Martingale collar for the same price as the adjustable Martingale. Just state in the note area of your payment that you want fitted Martingale and to which measurements you want it made.
